Disabling spaces completely on Mac

I don't use Spaces. How can I disable it completely?

In particular, I'd like to disable the feature where dragging a window off the top of the screen opens the Spaces chooser interface. It's far too easy to do this accidentally and I never want to do it.

Thanks for the response.

An interesting theory, except I'm still on Sonoma and Tiling wasn't introduced until the recent Sequoia. Tiling (arranging multiple windows on one desktop) looks and behaves completely differently from Spaces (switching between multiple virtual desktops on one display).

What I want to disable is definitely Spaces (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaces_%28software%29).
