The source code compilers, linker, make command, debugger, etc… for building your own programs from source code you wrote, or downloaded.
If you installed Homebrew, or similar open source code manager, it would have included the command line tools, so it could build the open source programs you ask it to install.
I did all of that, but it is still showing 1.7Gb....
What is Command Line Tools? Is it something I may need in the future?
