I am not receiving push notifications on my iPhone after iOS 18 update

After the iOS 18 update I no longer receive push notifications on my Lock Screen. I have to open the apps to see that I receive a message hours ago and never received the notification. iPhone 13 Pro

This issue is pretty annoying, i tried everything but seems like Apple are not prioritizing fixing the issue.

I couldn’t agree more with you. For those who rely on notifications such as for medical purposes, as well as those who rely on them for everyday tasks.

Their support doesn’t warrant the heavy price tag of their products, you’d think they would be able to resolve an issue such as this.

Come on Apple!!.. it’s unacceptable to expect people to pay for a product that doesn’t function as intended.

Here are a few steps to fix the push notifications issue on your iPhone 13 Pro after the iOS 18 update:

1. Check Notification Settings:

• Go to Settings > Notifications.

• Select the affected apps and ensure that Allow Notifications is enabled, and check that Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners are selected.

2. Check Focus Mode:

• Ensure that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not enabled. Go to Settings > Focus and make sure no focus mode is blocking notifications.

3. Turn Off Low Power Mode:

• Go to Settings > Battery and turn off Low Power Mode, as it may prevent push notifications.

4. Check Background App Refresh:

• Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and make sure it’s enabled for the affected apps.

5. Reboot Your iPhone:

• Restart your phone by pressing and holding the power button, then sliding to power off. Turn it back on after a few seconds.

6. Check for App Updates:

• Go to the App Store and update the affected apps in case they need updates for iOS 18 compatibility.

7. Reset All Settings:

• Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This won’t delete your data, but it will reset system settings like Wi-Fi passwords and notifications.

If none of these work, it might be worth waiting for a future iOS 18 patch or contacting Apple Support.

Good point made. I’m having the same issue with my iPhone 14 Pro after upgrading to iOS 18.1. I thought I had left the iPhone in “Do Not Disturb” or I “silenced” the iPhone. To add a bit of mud to the issue, the alerts for messaging are not being sent to my Apple Watch 7 which I rely on while out in the field and lugging my photography gear.

Hi,

Got the problem after installing 18.1.1 and I've tried all the different options mentioned here.

WORKS for me (iPhone 12): Only one thing works and it's reinstalling the app.

I guess when a new app asks for permission to send notifications, that fixes the problem (mends the connection between the app and the iOS notification system somehow...)

Problem is that you only get that on first install, not after... I don't want to reinstall 100+ apps and login to most of them...
