Maps ignores Motorways

Like others have said, my correctly configured Maps app chooses routes that avoid the Motorway (US Freeway).

I am using the new IOS 18.0.1

I’m trying to set a custom route. I place my start marker on the motorway junction and then about 20 miles further on the exit junction.

Maps take the route off the motorway and on A and B roads to get to the destination junction.

I know how to use the app, what settings are needed, how to create a custom route etc

It is not set to avoid busy roads or Motorways.

It isn’t user error, its the APP

its rubbish, unfit for purpose.
