How to recover Missing Files from iCloud on MacBook Pro

I recently had my 2015 MacBook Pro’s SSD replaced with a 1 TB SSD. A few days before the work was done, I made sure that an important folder I kept on my desktop was in iCloud. After the work was done, the majority of that folder is missing and only a few older files appear. I have the original SSD that was returned to me but the file isn’t on it. Is there some sort of shadow history that I can look into for the file?
