iphone 15 not showing in finder but charging when plugged into Mac

Mac OS Sequoia

When the iphone 15 is plugged into the macbook pro it charges but does not show in the finder sidebar or in the music app. I have tried different ports, different USB-C cables and made sure the side bar settings include showing iOS devices. Any more information will be greatly accepted
