Unable to search in my 'Photos App' after new update

The feedback form isn’t even updated to allow us to indicate we’re using iOS 18.2!

We should encourage everyone with this problem to feedback to Apple. This was a great feature. Thank you Richard for posting the link.

apple needs to fix this, my phone is not as useful without being able to search dates, citys, descriptions etc. like the search feature stopped working over night couple weeks ago.

i just updated to the latest 18.3 and have lost photo search, which I use a lot and was just using yesterday before this update. I HATE THAT THEY MESSED UP PHOTOS SO MUCH!

After waiting for the indexing of my library to complete, the search mentioned in the original post for "pumpkin" is now giving good results.

At least it is finding related vegetables, a picture of a pumpkin patch and a jack-o-lantern. It is just very inconvenient, that there are no longer separate results for Text and categories.

what is going on with apple? i used this feature several times a day and now it stopped working adter the last update. im seriously considering dumping apple

im upset about this also, i can no longer search for pictures in my phone like i used to. before if i typed a city name in everysingle picture ive ever taken in that town or city would show up now it only gives me like 25% of the pictures ever taken there. and if i want to find the group of photos i took i now have to find the date and scroll to the date because now the date search doesnt work anymore. why did apple do this? is it becuase they want us to upgrade the phones faster? this ones only less than 2 years old.

Me too. And before I was able to send a text message and then attach a photo and there would be a search bar and I could search for the photo I wanted that I had actually named and it's not allowing me to do that so I have to send a text message and then go into the photos and search for the photo For the title of the photo that I named it in order to be able to select it and attach it as a text message. Every time they do an update it just sucks even more. And everybody out there is complained forever about the keyboard and they never do anything about the keyboard. I'm over iPhones completely.

Me too - why isn’t apple listening !! We get sucked into a new upgraded phone because “your storage is full” and then we can’t even find what those photos are anymore and it cost us $1,000 to get screwed

Thought it was just me ~ I've got over 40,000 images that I've shot since 2010, and trusted iphoto to keep cataloged for me for almost 15 years. I was always amazed at how intuitive this software was, bringing up images that I'd often forgotten, and always reliable when it came to showing PLACES, which as a professional photographer was a key for me to organizing my images shot with my camera. As others have mentioned, of all the things to mess around with, why iPhoto?!?

Me too on an iphone 13, search completely broken, zero results. I hate updates…….

I've been waiting for two weeks. Still doesn't work. Waiting isn't the answer.
