The search function on Calendar no longer works

The search function on iCal no longer works. It returned no results. I then went and toggled off/on show search results and icloud connection. This seems to have restored a few results but nowhere near original or current times. I have results from 2022/23 and February of 2024, when in reality I should have results on specific days each month (it's now 9/30/24). Beyond aggravating... what now?
