IOS 18 Update Makes it Difficult to Text

I just updated my phone to IOS 18 and everything has been fine, but my mom has an Android phone and my phone doesn't let me text her cell phone number. She has an iPhone 15 as her work phone and whenever I text her cell phone number it automatically corrects to her work phone number even though I have deleted and blocked her work number multiple times. Whenever I text her cell phone number the messages send green because it is an Android, but then she will text me back saying I am texting her work phone. This problem is recent because the first couple of days after I updated my phone to IOS 18 it was working fine, I don't know what happened.

iPhone 13, iOS 18

I have tried EVERYTHING suggested to resolve this issue and I’m still unable to text my husband (android). It has to do with the recent update! Prior to the IOS 18 update I had no issues texting him. Please help! This is very frustrating!!

I updated my 12 pro max software (iOS 18.0.1) and my family group chat is out of order. One family member does have a iphone (latest device) and the other has a Samsung. From my phone, it goes out as a group text. Then on my phone I have additional outgoing messages to these same people. When then reply, I end up with two individual texts. There is nothing online that really helps to solve the issue. Sick of all the updates! Sick not having enough space on my ipad for a update and I don't have but 1 game on my ipad. I have to delete all texts and still not enough room for these updates. Going back to Samsung.

TRY THESE STEPS

Go to Settings:

1.     Locate and tap on Wi-Fi

2.     Turn off your wi-fi until all steps have been completed

3.     Go back Settings, locate and then tap on Cellular

4.    Turn off cellular data

5.     Go back to settings, locate and then tap on General

6.     Locate and tap on Transfer or Reset phone

7.     Locate and tap on Reset

8.    Locate and tap on Reset Network Settings

9.    Your device should automatically power down and restart.

10.  Once your device has restarted, Go to settings,

A.    Locate and tap on Wi-fi.

B.    Send a test group text message to (2) ppl, preferably 1 another iPhone user and an Android user to see if this resolves this issue.

IF THIS DOES NOT HELP, CONTACT YOUR SERVICE CARRIER & RESET A NETWORK SETTINGS RESET ON THEIR END. ONCE THEY DO THE NETWORK SETTING RESET, YOUR PHONE WILL AUTOMATICALLY RESTART AND RECONNECT TO YOUR WI-FI.

I HOPE THIS HELPS.

It’s the eSIM for phones that have two. Switch to the other one and your problem is solved. The technician said that I could probably switch back to the first since the issue, as he understands it, is that the iOS needs to be reset with the eSIM. You may have to do some research for all of the information required as I didn’t see the exact procedure step by step but the solution is in the Cellular settings. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this yourself then take your phone to your sales person and tell them what needs to be done. I hope this helps!
