Email Sound Notifications Not Working After ios 18 Update - Temporary Fix Found

I dont have no notifications sound too i have called them more than 5 times.. its unbelievable… we pay plenty of money go buy iphone more than any other phone…. Samsung is just way better.. and next time i wont choose iphone seriously…..and we got nothing instead its really a shame !!! Since september i get no notification!!!

Guys, you should just take the phones back to the store and get your money back. It's a defect and it's an obvious fact. And secondly, when calling the support service you should not give them any data from the phone screen, but ask them a simple question “do notifications work on your personal phone?”. Or “have you held in your hands a phone with IOS18 that has notifications working?”.

I have just downloaded 18.3.1 and still no resolution to the mail notification sounds. This is now seriously beyond a joke.If apple seriously wanted to resolve this issue surely they would have done it after 4 plus months.

Time to consider a change of mobile.

I’m totally giving up on any future Apple products my iPhone 16 Pro Max is updated to the latest version. Still no email sound notification. I just purchased Apple AirPod Pro two second generation no in ear detection apples really not taking much interest in the products they’re putting out that’s the last purchase Going forward will not be Apple

My notifications started working again early this year. Interestingly, I do not have the same settings your advisor told you to set. It sounds like there is still a bug because however alert settings are set, they should work accordingly. I have ‘All Unread messages in primary’ checked. I have ‘Primary inbox’ turned off. I have my email provider (yahoo) alerts turned on. These layers of settings are very confusing regardless. I dont know what they really mean but it’s working.

I don’t understand something. As I have read, you cannot uninstall the apple mail app because it is factory installed. I do see it as open in the App Store but hesitant to delete it. I installed 18.4 but still nothing. I will call apple tomorrow for the 100th time.

Apple changed it so stock apps can be removed from your phone. It will retain your removed apps in the cloud in case you decide to add them back. I’d be hesitant too on such a critical function, but I’m sure it’s fine if you decide to try it for the case of fixing something.

I have only just realised that I'm not getting notification sounds from the Mail app on my iPhone 13.

I had wrongly assumed that I had received the emails when away from the phone and not heard the tone- doh!

Having read all of the posts so far and tried everything listed, nothing makes any difference. My phone is still under guarantee so I will return it as defective and see what Apple have to say.

Yes, that’s why I wrote that I’m hesitant to post this. Today’s day 2 and so far so good but who wants to walk on eggshells wondering when it’s gonna stop? I did notice two other glitches now though. Some of my emails don’t show as being read after opening them and some of my notifications come in twice. Something funky is definitely going on on Apple side. I can’t believe that Apple doesn’t even acknowledge this. I’ve even searched YouTube and no one hasn’t reported it.

Geoff, I’m in the UK and deleting the iCloud mail app and reinstalling it worked for me. Notifications have been received and synced across my watch, iPhone and iPad for a good few days since doing this.

I have installed 18.4, uninstalled the mail app and then reinstalled it. Some notification sounds are back but are erratic. Sometimes they work other times they only work when you open the mail app. Progress after 6 months I suppose but there still is a bug.

I have a iPhone 15 plus .I had a nice ring to notify me for my mails . I updated my iOs to 18.4.1 and now there is no ringtone for my email accounts, I have set it as before to send a ring with my incoming emails but whatever I try it just doesn’t have a sound . I so much want to get those rings back .

Anyone help ?

Tried that previously and worked for a short while. However, when 18.4 was installed it worked for me immediately without doing anything - until 18.4.1 came along. Nothing about this issue really makes any sense.

I read where some say even that is temporary. Please post if it appears a more robust solution. Apple does not seem to care to address it. As I previously posted, when I reported it the person I spoke to acted as if that was the first they heard of it. Based on this thread, that seems unlikely.

18.4 updated on my iPhone 12 but no sound notification for incoming emails. All other notification sounds working for sms, messenger etc. have checked all settings are correct. When will apple fix this so called known issue.
