Reminders and Calendar integration creating duplicates

I just upgraded to Sequoia on MBA to finally make use of Reminders appearing in Calendar, after setting it up on my iphone 15 PM and iOS18. Assume native Apple apps from here on.

  • Reminders with due dates are appearing on MBA.

I use Siri to collate a lot of ‘to-do’ tasks while I drive/walk/etc.

The feature I have been searching high and low for, that I thought this might provide is - dragging a ‘to-do’ from the reminders app onto a date and time in Calendar app when I intend to do it. This I can do, but it just creates a new (duplicate) reminder in the default reminder list rather than just updating the due date/deadline in the original reminder task in its specific list.

Given the two-way integration of completing a reminder in the calendar app, I thought this too would have been an included feature?

Am I doing something wrong, or can it be a feature request?
