Why does my Apple Music require a restart to change audio output

Using apple music software on my computer and it just sucks when you switch audio output to speakers or to your headphones you have to close the app and open it again usually it wont even work first time you open the app also song queue wont work half of the time also music some times suddenly stops and you have to close it again also equalizer doesn't work it breaks up the volume slider u cannot put volume up or down and some times it blows up your ear drums cranking the volume much higher than the volume slider even lets this have broken one of my headphones so i wont be using equalizer any more

Anything that triggers a audio device change also requires an application restart. Going from work to home or vice versa: must restart Apple Music. Lately, and this is new, locking my computer when I step away does damage to Apple Music and I have to restart. I'm close to saying, "What's the point?" And finding a different music streaming service.

(Granted, locking my computer shouldn't be messing with my audio devices, but the softphones I have handle it just fine, and they aren't backed by multi-billion dollar companies.)

This absolutely drives me nuts.
