Cannot Deactivate Do Not Disturb (turned on by Calendar)

When I make an event in Calendar, whether on my iPhone or MacBook, then later, during the event, my phone goes automatically into Do Not Disturb, and I miss important calls and texts. There appears to be no way to turn off Do Not Disturb. There seems to be no way to change this default setting. There is no Calendar app setting on the laptop or the phone that even MENTIONS "do not disturb" or "focus." There is not Calendar app link setting in the Focus app. There is no way to create a focus which explicitly is the OPPOSITE of Do Not Disturb.

This is a MAJOR FLAW in the system. WE NEED A SIMPLE, DEFINITIVE ON-OFF BUTTON FOR DO NOT DISTURB.

These "focus" settings are trash. Who can help me? Who will save us from this poorly designed system?
