CarPlay not working with iPhone 16 Pro
I upgraded my iPhone 12 Pro to a 16 Pro, and the new phone will not connect to my 2018 Mazda CX-5 with CarPlay. When I plug it in, it charges but makes no sign of connecting.

I am so disappointed! My new iPhone 16 Pro does not work connect to my Carplay in my Toyota CHR. Had I known this, I would have upgraded to an iPhone 15 Pro instead. :(
Where did you find that in settings?
Did what you said and it works.
Better solution than just complaining about it.
This worked- thanks so much (was driving me mad!)
I have tried everything, even a wireless adapter in my Opel Astra, but nothing works. Apple really fails by only providing cordless Carplay.
Need a usb-c/lightning ADAPTER
Which restriction? I need help
I used small USB-C to usb adapters on our 2020 Telluride and it worked
I did that and it didn’t fix for me. It keeps saying devise no repose..but if I leave it connected it will eventually connect but maybe 15 minutes into the ride
Just adding I already checked all the privacy restrictions.
Thank you. I will try one of these to see if that works. I have a Belkin braided one now and it takes forever to connect. I have no idea if it said it was for date transfers.
Just seems really weird that Apple doesn’t give you a cord that works
Great suggestion! did not have to make any changes to any settings or deal with update issues. Thank you!
Don't buy the adapter. The USB-A to Lightning is the problem. Get the Nimble USB-A to USB-C. Apple sells them.
Did you upgrade from a 12? Your situation may be different.
Found an old Belkin USB to USB C that came from some random device and it worked on my 2017 Acura RDX.
(iPhone 16 Pro)
The fix seems to be the right type cable.
Good luck!
