unable to sync with itunes with iphone 15 pro

I am trying to connect my iphone 15 Pro with itunes on Windows 11 Home, via wifi. I've tried using both my home wifi, and by creating a hotspot on the laptop and connecting the iphone to that. Neither works.

I have plugged the phone in with a cable, but thats the reason why my granddaughter gave me the phone, it apparently has a damaged cable port. It is however, indicating that it's charging via cable, but Windows still doesn't recognise it.

I have an awful lot of music that I purchased prior to the days of apple music, or spotify, and want to get that from my laptop to this phone. I have done this with previous phones, and ipads with no trouble.

Can anyone help? either with a way to get itunes to recognise my phone when it hasnt been connected via cable before, or to connect via wifi, which according to what I've read this morning, it should be able to do.
