Touch Bar Buttons Missing After macOS Sequoia Update

Hi,

After updating to macOS Sequoia, I’ve noticed that the Touch Bar no longer displays the call-related buttons as it used to. Specifically:

  1. The Accept and Reject buttons are missing when I receive a call.
  2. The Contact Name and Call Text (e.g., incoming call from [Name]) also don’t appear anymore.

I've tried to isolate using Safe Mode and using Different Account, still FaceTime doesn't not show buttons.

I'm receiving call pop-up on my screen, I can call using my Mac.

Has anyone else experienced this issue after the update? Any suggestions on how to restore these Touch Bar functions?

Thanks!

The new Calculator app is also missing any Touch Bar controls. It seems the Touch Bar is officially dead and buried.

Hey everyone,

I was facing the FaceTime and Calculator TouchBar issue same as you all.

I reached out to apple support and got this response:

Looks like there is already an open investigation ticket for this issue.

Let's hope for the fix with an update.

This is really terrible. As a physically challenged person, I bought the 2022 13" macbook specifically for the touchbar, as it makes using certain functions much easier, and puts them in easy reach instead of having to click tiny buttons in the corners of the screen. For me, this is a usability feature, and since the 2022 M2 macbook isn't end of life as far as I am aware, these functions need to come back.

It's not completely dead yet, but Apple is slowly removing features so that people won't notice, and it will make it easier for users to transition to newer Macs. It just shows how inconsiderate Apple can be toward consumers; they're intentionally removing a feature. It is not like Apple is working on groundbreaking stuffs, like Samsung, so they don’t have time to maintain older features. However, if apps like Photoshop and Illustrator can still support the Touch Bar, at the very least Apple should keep the old features working, even if they’re not adding new ones. tbh, it doesn’t take much extra effort to maintain a feature as long as it doesn’t interfere with new updates.
