Hello, I currently have a m1 macbook 2020, everything else on my mac is working except that my wallpaper keeps flickering every few minutes.
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.0
Thanks for the note. But mine, official 15.0.1, still definitely have the screen flickering issue (on a dark grey solid color background).
me too
on imac 24" M1 have some flickering issue on my background
please fixing that bug. its so annoying
wait for update immediately
Have the same annoyng problem :(
Me too. Extremely frustrating, seems like bugs everywhere in iOS these days.
Solution -> 15.1 (official since two days) not 15.0.1
Same on M1 Air, wallpaper becomes grey when I use Adobe software and Battle.net
Developer Update 15.1 for Sequoia appears to have fixed this issue
Since the update to 15.1, there has been major flickering on my 2 external screens. At the moment, my MacBook Pro is unusable.
Same here, after upgrading to Sequoia, this bug has arisen.
This is very much annoying........
I had same problem since updating to Sequoia yesterday. I called apple support. What seems to have fixed the problem (at least for now):
Start up your computer in Safe Mode. If you do not have the flickering while in Safe Mode, it is a software problem. That is what they told me. If that is the case the next step is to reinstall Sequoia. See the link with the steps for starting up in Safe Mode and for reinstalling Sequoia. They told me I had to do the safe mode thing FIRST. The first time I called, the person asked me to re-install, but did not ask me to start up in safe mode. That did not work. I called again and the other person told me I had to start in safe mode first, and then reinstall. It has been about two hours that I have done these two steps and so far no flickering or flashing or sliding the screen from right to left.
1) Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support
2)Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support
I have a 2019 MacBook Pro that has the same issue. The propsed solutions did not work for me, including the solution that shall not be named. I am sure of is software related since it does not happen when running Windows 10 through Bootcamp.
2020 Macbook Pro. Same issue the moment I upgraded to Sequoia. I'm on 15.0.1, still happening. It's terribly annoying. Called support and tried safe mode and tried logging in as a different user. Same issue. Needs fixed.
me too on a iMac Retina 5K, 27" (Intel), 2020 with macos 15.0.1 .
The screen briefly flickers green. This can even be reproduced in the Apple TV app.
This does not happen during movie playback. Only when a new screen is displayed or updated. I hope this information helps you to investigate the problem further. Thanks.
I've been having this all week as well. Like some others have mentioned, it's not just a cosmetic flickering, it's as if something is switching the focus of the app to something else. This frequently interrupts keystrokes when typing. And if you have any modal dialog, like a right-click, menu bar app, etc. those get dismissed as well.
What I've narrowed it down to on my end is some Python scripts that manage Docker containers. The script tries to access a file in `~/Library/Group Containers/...` to change some Docker settings, which requires permissions to other apps (or Full Disk Access). If I decline that access prompt, or disable FDA, the flickering stops, or at least becomes a lot less common, maybe once every few minutes (annoying, but usable). I've also tried to comment out the method call that does that file access, and it seems to also help, but unfortunately breaks some stuff with Docker, so I can't use that solution.
My M2 MacBook Air is on Sequoia 15.0.01 and this is happening to me as well. The flicker only happens to my desktop which flashes a solid dark grey wallpaper and then reverts back to my desktop image. I am also not running the Mendeley web importer extension.
Are you running more than 1 monitor
I get the flicker every 9 minutes - it starts every time by magnifying the main monitor image, the second monitor then goes blank, the image than eventually returns correctly on the main monitor, then a second or two later, the second monitor comes back ( but on accessions does not, whereby I have to put the system to sleep, then wake it again, and the second monitor comes back).
I am this very moment, after updating to the latest (24B82), with my second monitor blank after "the flicker", and still blank even though I use the technique I just mentioned in the previous paragraph which worked on the previous version.
