Finding very heavy battery drain with this update. From 9am to 10am lost 10% battery. Usually at 7pm I would have 65-70% battery left. Sitting at 50% right now.

Terrible battery drain after updating watchOS 11 on apple watch series 7. The apple watch goes from 100% to 84% in less than 1 hours. In 8 hours, the apple watch is running out of charge. Worst of all, this is using it as normal watch, not playing music, not tracking any sports or activity from workout app, just putting in my wrist to use it as a normal watch.
This is actually wild, as the Ultra 2 is supposed to have the longest battery life of all the Apple Watches and I was looking at buying it for that sole reason.
Apple dropped the ball big time on this one and it started with WatchOS 9 I think and they refuse to address the issue.
I had issues with my stainless steel 8 from the first year after an update and they kept dismissing me. Now after they said that the battery still has 85% capacity, they wanted $400 in order to replace my battery. How convenient
No fix. Not better at all. Watch is off warranty and next step would be to get a new battery, but the battery is still at 87% life. I’m very disappointed in the update, because it’s been terrible and less user friendly and the awful battery drain. Still charge twice a day, for now. Also what’s the point of having any of the features (always on display, live activities, regular notifications) if you have to shut everything off to make the watch last more than 6 hours.
Same thing happened to my watch. Day before the update, battery health was 85%. Day after the update, battery health is now 76% and Apple has suggested I spend $99 to repair the battery. When speaking with Apple support, I said it sure seems like there is more than mere correlation here. It seems like the update had a causal effect on my current poor battery performance. Apple support said it was mere coincidence. LOL
I just bought an Ultra 2 in July. Right outta the box, I got about 3 1/4 days. With the newest update, I have to now charge it every 2 days! I spent the extra money so I didn’t have to do the daily charge - now I’m back to every other day
Just did the 11.1 update today. Battery drain even worse than before. Tried everything I could to resolve the drain on previous updates. Nothing works. Wish I could go back to watchOS 9, which was superior, in my opinion.
Same here even with 11.1. Update battery is still draining faster. Apple Watch Series 8… last night was at 19%. Typically on a regular day I end the night with about 40% battery. My battery is draining at least 20-25% more than it normally used to after the updates. I just finished a workout and not only am I charging it now, but it is charging slower than ever even with battery optimization off.
This is disaster, my Ultra 1 only have half day battery, Apple’s software nowadays is a lot worse than before. I don’t understand why their software has so poor quality! No fix plan yet, very disappointed. I won’t update any new Apple OS until it was found stable again.
Same and more terrible after 6 hours of sleep I lost more than 45% of battery and also the screen goes black for more than 1-2 hours a day even if I have more than 60% battery making my Apple Watch unusable… thinking on buying ultra cause of this , because I thought i somehow broke it ( right now I have a series 9 ) any opinions on this ?

Exactly. I charge mine every morning. I can’t carry a watch charger with me everywhere I go

I had same issue, restarted watch and it helped.
Same here. S8. It used to lose 10-15% of the battery overnight. Now it loses 75% over 6-7 hours - in sleep mode, for crying out loud!
watchOS 11.0.1 is out to fix battery drainage issues! 🤞
Update did nothing. Still drains quickly and have to charge twice a day.
