Calendar app on iOS18 using google calendar

I have a shared work calendar through google calendar that is signed in on the calendar app. After updating to iOS18, I no longer have the ability to edit any events. This is an issue as I cannot get directions to the location of the event, I can't update notes, etc. Some of the events will show they are "read only" because they have been imported. I am hoping there is a work around here, I have been using the calendar app for 10 years and its always worked with this calendar, but with the new update I have no functionality with google calendar other than viewing events. Please help!
