iPhone battery draining after iOS 18 Update

I've noticed the exact same thing on my iPhone 13 that has been out of the box for merely a year. I disabled Background App Refresh as a temporary measure and the battery life improved noticeably.

Went to bed with 80% woke up to a dead battery. Not cool apple.

iPhone 13 Pro

• Wednesday (09/18) - iOS18 update
• Thursday (09/19) - Even after hefty activities which requires to use phone, my iP13P usually last the whole day without charging. however, this day I had to charge my phone through a powerbank at school because around 3pm my phone was around 15% already. Phone was 100% around 10am. Notice the drastic change?
• Here comes the issue:

Battery Health—

– 09/18 83%

– 09/19 82%

– 09/20 81%

– 09/21 81% (barely used) but battery drained I had to charge 2x

– 09/22 80% (9am)

– 09/22 79% (11pm)

iOS18 sucks and now I’m forced to replace my battery!

Will this mean restoring my battery health to 100% ? Heck, my phone was on 100% before the update, now, only 3 days after, it's 98%!

Is this another Apple scam to force us to upgrade?

I am using iPhone 13. Hot an update to upgrade to IOS 18. After successfully upgrading the battery is draining like water flowing from tap. 20% drained in less than 5 mins.

it will be great if a fix can be provided to stop these unjustified battery draining and health.

If this is your strategy to upgrade the iPhone 13 to a new model then I think it’s not great way of doing such act.

Updated on my iPhone 15 Pro on Monday...no improvement yet after 4 days...it is draining the battery. Charging is also getting paused because of overheating while on the charger. Never this disappointed with apple.

My iPhone 14 Pro is doing the same. Battery draining very quickly, and gets the phone gets hot, which interrupts charging. It appears the Calendar app is the culprit, responsible for 80% of the battery usage, when I haven’t even used Calendar.

have updated to 18.01 and battery still draining fast and overheating when charging

I have a 14 Pro max and would love to know how to resolve the battery issue my phone battery lasted me all work day not it’s barely lasting half the shift

I’m also planning to switching to Samsung. I’m fedup with these nonsense things by Apple.

And my phone gets hot when i’m doing literally nothing.

So we’re going to have to wait a month or two for this next update our batteries will be fried by then.. smfh come on apple I thought you were better than this good way to lose Customers why do you want an iPhone that only last a couple hours when we could get a android I’d rather not but if I have to I will

And a new phone....or old phone....is working really hard for a few days after a normal update. Even harder after a major iOS change.

Give it 3-4 days and report back.

iOS 18 on a brand new phone drains just as fast and Gets hot.

ios 18 on a 15 pro or 14 pro does the same thing.

I never had a hot phone on iOS 17
