Siri stopped talking after iOS 18 update

when I say hey siri my screen lights up different colors but she doesn’t reply. I’ve completed all the updates (that appears to be the problem), made sure prefer spoken requests is selected, let all of the voices downloaded, did the forced restart, and everything else I have read in this thread to do and it still only lights up and does a texted response instead of a verbal response. HELP!!!!

Same issue here it’s really agitating. I have the latest update my iPhone 13 mini I know little sluggish but beyond that it doesn’t unless my screen is locked speak my responses I’ve had and do have all the settings spoken preferences, etc. on yet still I get a answer response from Siri uncertain facts here you go I’m like well. Read it to me and it says oh I don’t have can’t enable that right now or something stupid anyway going back to iPhone 15 Pro that has ChatGPT built in with alleged intelligence smiley emoji Sunday so at least I know that works.👍😡🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Siri will not talk at all. When I say “hey Siri “ the phone lights up, I asked my question, and I hear the little chime, and she will answer by text, but I hear no voice. I have checked all the settings. I have googled it. I’ve looked through here. I have done everything that I have found on the Internet and she will not talk. She says she’s at 100%.

I did this and Siri only responds to me as I hold the Lock button and/or Siri button. Is there something else I can do to allow Siri to speak without touching phone? I really miss this feature with my Apple phone!

I've the same issue. Even in Siri settings, follow the instructions to set up Siri. Siri did not hear anything. My microphone is normal only Siri can't hear me anymore since I updated to iOS 18. My phone is XS Max :( Please fix it Apple

Siri didn’t not stop talking Siri doesn’t hear to even set it up. My microphone works great with google. Even though all the Siri settings are proper Siri hasn’t heard anything since IOS 18. My iPhone is a Xs. I tried everything at least 80 times and doesn’t hear me. Apple please figure this issue out.

Unfortunately there is no fix, there is only “apple already has your money so cry about it”

ive spent weeks trying to get my iphone 16 fixed with issues like freezing, crashing, siri changing her own settings and being generally buggy like this, and all they keep doing is putting me in a feedback loop of warranty claims, im on my second 16 now with the same problems as the first, and theyve both been wiped and re set up without backup. Ive lost so much data for apple to basically just say “there is no fix and we dont care”

There’s been major problems with unlock Siri it doesn’t unlock. Even asking it to text someone it says you need to unlock your phone. It is unlocked. I’ve had the iPhone since the 3GS so I know how to try and get around everything but nothing is working.

wifi is fine. "prefer spoken responsse" is on. "allow siri when locked" is on. and yet ....

I think might apple need to invest in new technology instead choosing the android features . Lack of technology siri stopped working after update 18.

This is exactly the same for me, ie; won't verbalize weather forecast but will tell me the time. I did a reboot, checked the settings etc

Doesn't work...it will give a verbal response to time but not temp and other things
