How to remove reminders linked to Calendar?

It is within the realm of possibility that you'll need to add Reminders back to the phone in order to remove the widget. But try first without doing that.

I only have the upgrade loaded on my iPhone and I don't know what you mean by sidebar. Maybe only the iPad has a sidebar. I did find the "Completed Reminders" option on the iPhone by clicking Calendars at the bottom of the Calendar app -- but that only turns of completed reminders, non all reminders which is what I want to do.

They are linked to your calendar whether you like it or not if they have dates. However, you don't have to see them in Calendar if you don't want. Untick the "Scheduled Reminders" calendar. How you do that will depend on the device(s) you're using.

Go to the original post. Look just below it and to the right. Click on the blue bell icon. When it turns into just an outline, you have unsubscribed.

Manufacturers frequently make new features defaults, because, as no one reads release notes, you wouldn’t know the feature was there if they didn’t make it obvious. And the reason the feature is there is because they received a sizable number of requests, some of the quite virulent, asking why the H*** doesn’t the iPhone show Reminders in the Calendar like Android does?

Go to Settings/apps/calendar/accounts and delete the subscribed spam calendar.

Thanks for the instructions to take reminders off my calendar. I wish I could choose some of the reminders to be on. But, having all of them on clutters the calendar.

You need to make all the options unchecked by clicking “show all” or “hide all”

I believe I have successfully removed Reminders from my MacBook, and from my iPhone, except that there’s a reminder screen right in the middle of my desktop on my iPhone. it’s just there. I can’t move it.
