This issue is genuinely ******* me off. I’ve spent way too much money with Apple for my devices to keep having unresolved issues. Ever since I updated to iOS 18, my AirPod pro 2’s disconnect multiple times a day when I’m using them. And of course customer service is no help because they just want me to follow a series of steps that I have already done 100 times.
Really getting fed up now. Since the 18 upgrade my AirPod pros loose Bluetooth with my phone. Have to reset and Now not even connecting. They work fine on iPad and iMac but just not my phone! Clearly software issue. Really annoyed!
I share your sentiment of disappointment. After nine years
of using Samsung, I recently switched back to Apple, but I'm not experiencing
the luxury, user-friendliness, or innovative solutions I expected. Instead,
I've encountered poor software design and outdated hardware.
It's crucial to thoroughly test updates to prevent
disconnection issues. While features like gesture control are interesting, they
don't outweigh the problems caused by disconnections. If discontinuing such
options resolves these issues, I believe it would be worth considering.
This is a major bummer. but after officially updating to 18.1 it seems to have bricked my AirPods Max. Now I don't know what to do! These things are pretty much glued to my head at work

I can't get my air pods to connect since the new IOS 18 update. NEVER had this issue before. When are you going to fix this . We spend $$$ on this issue (time and energy!). I have tried ALL of the steps you've provided, and nothing has worked.

I’ve been dealing with this same issue multiple times through out the day. Music takes up a pretty large part of my time and it’s super inconvenient when that’s made complicated and stressful. I’ve noticed it happens more so when the AirPods are at high volume, somewhere above 50% I’d say?
Can’t connect with airpod
Same thing happened to me! Fortunately, it just fixed itself one day and never came back. Are your AirPods updated?
Ditto, mine are almost unusable at the minute with the interference and cutouts.
My issues have stopped, must have been either from an airpod update or Iphone update (I’m running the latest dev update). Whichever, the airpods are now back to their normal trusted behaviour! Phew!
app1 won’t stay connected to my iphone 13 pm, they “connect”, but seconds later they’re disconnected and ask me to pair them again. very annoying bug, please fix.
I’ve seen several posts saying to durn off vocal shortcuts… it’s not setup for me, yet I’ve still got problems.
I also have this issue with two sets of airpods. It's a constant battle to get them to connect. They will disconnect randomly while on a call as well. It started after I updated to 18.
I just upgraded my ipad to ipadOS 18, and got the 16 pro max, since getting the new phone, my airpods pro 2 have had auto connectivity issues with both the ipad and the phone. and if i change the way i am using my airpods while watching youtube specifically like taking one out or putting another airpod in, it keeps pausing the video. the only way to “fix” this issue is have found is to take out the airpods and put them back in the case, then manually reconnect the airpods to the ipad and closing out the app and re opening it. please help 😭
This now seems to me like a phone IOS18 issue. I’m experiencing the same sound interruption with whatever speaker it is connected to (and even just the phone). I only noticed on the AirPods at first, but as soon as I got in the car on the weekend, it is there to. So hence I tested only the phone, and it is there as well. When the screen sleeps or wakes up, the sound cuts out.
I went to Apple Genius Bar because of the problem. They completely replaced my Airpods 2 Pro. It did not help! I've been struggling with this weird bug since September! It's just annoying! Why is Apple so slow to fix this bug?
I have the following data:
iPhone 15 Pro
iOS 18.1
Airpods Pro 2 USB C
Model: A3047
Firmware: 7B21
