After importing an audio file on GarageBand, everything after went high-pitched

Hello. I am editing a podcast on GarageBand and I used Adobe's podcast clean-up tool to polish a Zoom recording. The Zoom recording I imported sounded fine on the track, but every audio clip afterwards is now high-pitched, like chipmunks, and they seem slightly corrupted.

Realising something had gone wrong, I opened the GarageBand project I saved at the very start so I could recover the original clips, but these have also been made high-pitched and they also jump, i.e. repeating words.

I don't understand why my mistake in the latest version of the project has affected the original saved project. I am worried I have lost the recordings post-import. Is there any way I can fix this? Reading around online suggests it might be something to do with sample rates.

Thanks so much.
