How do I set up my Home Studio for optimal recording on MacBook

I make music at my home studio and been having problems with recording So I bought a new interface new wires new mic thinking it was my hardware not giving me signal but I’m still not getting any vocal recordings is there any reason for this? It was working good and now I’m getting nothing

please help would appreciate it so much I don’t want to feel like I wasted money for no reason but I’m pretty sure I just did

Mind you my mic pics up my vocals and everything used to run smooth and now out of the blue I’m stuck I hate for this to happen especially cuss I always try to be consistent with my music
