When using Numbers & cell format Currency the $ jumps around

When using Currency in Numbers the $ generally is located on the far left of the cell, but when I update the numbers (sometimes) it moves the $ right next to the numbers. Is there a fix for this. I am using a MacBook pro 2023.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.6

I have to assume that you have different cell formats applied to the various cells...

Specifically, the location of the $ sign either on the left or adjacent to the number is referred to as 'Accounting Style'

and can be set for any individual cell.

I can't think of a case where Numbers is changing this option on the fly, at random, without some external factor (maybe conditional formatting? or custom cell format?)

Are you saying this happens in multiple different sheets? at random? or does a given cell in a specific sheet always display the same way?
