Wrong Routing Number

Hello. I had money in my Apple Wallet and started a transfer to my bank account. After waiting the 1-3 business days, I realized the money wasn’t in my account. I went into setting and that’s when I saw my routing and bank info was for an old account that had since been closed. I called Apple Support and they started a case to cancel the transfer. But today I got an email that said my transfer had been DENIED. I do not have accessed to the closed account and I don’t understand what would cause them to email me this. I’m going to try calling tomorrow. I’m beyond disappointed at this point. This is now over a week with the money in my account. I’m angry.

Considering if this isn’t resolved, switching from Apple products all together.

You’re welcome. Your call or chat may have been misdirected and you got into Apple Support and Apple doesn’t perform Apple Cash refunds and didn’t know how banks work. The reply was the only reply they had.

If you have an Apple Cash issue in the future, please call an Apple Cash Specialist. Apple Cash is a service that’s administered by Green Dot Bank. Contact an Apple Cash Specialist at Green Dot Bank by calling (877)-233-8552 .

I called to cancel the transfer to the wrong bank routing number then received an email that said “Your request on 8/14/2024 to cancel the bank transfer of $750 and refund your Apple Cash balance couldn't be completed.”

But that account is closed. So my money is currently just in limbo.

No money has been refunded to my Apple Wallet and since that account also doesn’t exist it hasn’t been deposited into a bank. But Apple doesn’t seem to have any answer on what they’re going to do about this issue.

I see now I should have said my request to stop the transfer had been denied but honestly I’m just upset that $750 is currently in limbo, and they sent the email at 10:30pm with a number to call with any questions. Yeah, well. They don’t have any costumer service reps until 7am tomorrow so until then I’m just freaking out.

Did the old account have a balance due on it? Is so, most banks will initiate a refund of the difference. If no balance was due, the receiving bank will initiate a return and funds are usually back in your account in 1 to 5 business days, depending on receiving bank’s practices and procedures. A few may even charge a return fee. It was not necessary to request a refund.
