My credit card in Apple wallet is not being detected by the card reader when paying with my credit card. Worked well for a long time but not now. I have reloaded card details and restarted iPhone but no luck.

Just so I understand, you’re attempting an Apple Pay transaction in person at a store and after initiating Apple Pay (double click side button), verifying with Face ID, picking desired card, and holding the iPhone an inch or two from the terminal, nothing happens. Is that correct? Is your iPhone in a case? Which iPhone is it specifically?
Yes - worked for a long time but no longer. Card works on its own. I have deleted and re- entered card details. Switched phone off and on. No change.
Phone is iPhone SE second generation. Phone is on a case.
So, you’ve tried this at multiple merchants and they all fail using Apple Pay?
Yes - always the same. Card works when waved over the card reader.
