MAC Updates Available notification - But I'm up to date

Ever since I updated to Sonoma 14.6.1, I keep getting the "Updates Available - New software is ready to be installed" notification. At least once a day. But I'm up to date, according to the updates tab. And clicking on the Details link just makes it go away. What's up with the phantom update, Apple?

Mac Studio, macOS 14.6

There are several Senior Contributors experience this phantom and false Software Update post the Sonoma 14.6.1 update

At this time of writing this reply, there is no known solution that I know of to stop this issue

Can only suggest, maybe contacting Apple Directly and alerting them of this issue

If there are enough person who report this, maybe they will react more quickly with some type of fix ?

Start now and open an Apple Support Ticket as they are PAID  Apple Employees to deal will these types of issues .

Still happening on my M2 Pro Mini, 2 weeks later. I left a Bug Report in the feedback link provided.

Good work there 👍

This issue, is akin, to another Rare Occurrence where a Non Qualifying computer was offered to upGrade to a version of macOS it doesn't qualify to run

Be patient as Apple works through this issue and possibly get it fixed on the Apple Server.

It is not going to happen instantaneously, IMHO

When we say akin it does not mean exactly the same issue

Animosities such as this one and the other previously mentioned are related in that they seem the caused by Apple Servers

FYI - running 1 M1, 1 M2 and yes 1 M3 all updated from Sonoma 14.6 to Sonoma 14.6.1

All done on the day of release August 7, 2024

Hi, I'm having this issue too, since some time on my MacBook Pro M3 Pro running Sonoma 14.6.1 (not sure when it started, though).

As suggested by PRP_53 I just sent product feedback to Apple, and then opened a ticket, even though at the moment they only provided the possibly pointless suggestion of trying using my Mac in safe mode and with another user 🙄. I explained that the notification might not appear in the short time of such a test, but they insisted.

I solved this on my own by turning off auto updates. Haven't seen the phantom update notification since on both my Intel based MacBook Pro and Mac Studio. Yes, I was getting them on both. I will have to check for updates manually. A minor inconvenience. Matter of fact, I just checked for updates and version 15.0 is available. I guess it's time to spend the next 30 minutes and watch the update to it's thing
