Fine tuning a Numbers ssheet template to manage my household finances and would like the Assets page to reflect current value of house minus current mortgage liability, need a formula that works in Number field.

Are you using the 'Net Worth' template?
If you subtract the mortgage liability from the value of the home on the Assets sheet then you need to remove the mortgage liability from the Liabilities sheet. Otherwise you would be double-counting the mortgage.

Yes, I am using the Net Worth template. My intent is to have the Liabilities page, Long Term Liabilities, reflect the current remaining principal of each asset as calculated monthly, reducing the Remaining Principal for each liability, based on the monthly calculation of payment of interest and principal.
