Apple Approval Notice text message scam

This is the text that I received twice this morning; by 2 different email servers, Gmail & Outlook

Apple Approval Notice

We have noticed that your Apple iCloud id was recently used at "APPLE STORE - CA" for $143.95, paid by Apple Pay Pre Authorization. Also some suspicious sign in request and apple pay activation request detected. That looks like suspicious to us. In order to maintain the security and privacy of your account we have placed those request on hold. Your Photos, Data, Bank Information and Cards are at risk. If NOT you? talk to an Apple Representative. Failing may lead to auto debit and charge will not be reversed. Call +1 8*******017 immediately to cancel this charge.

Got this text message so evidently they’re still scamming people.. Apple Approval Notice

Received this just now… searched and found your similar post. Hopefully Apple can use the links to better service and protect their services. Your financial institutions also strive to protect their customers from fraud.

I received the same message today, and I’m glad my first instinct was to check Google. I’m also pleased they used the exact same amount. The message came from e********19@icloud.com.

I keep these people on the line as possible. I kept one going an hour last week. I figure every minute they're talking to me is less time they have to scam someone else. My mom was plagued by these people when she was alive so I have no mercy for them.

If you think about it, you would have been doing something 10 seconds before the message came in. You may have just navigated to a web page, made a purchase on a website, or just updated your OS and none of those would be related to the message either. It really is not that crazy.

This is what I got:

Your Apple ID was used at "App Store" for $189.99. To ensure safety we hold Payment for approval. If not you then contact Support  +180******32

i got this text today 9/25. i said let me google this. it seemed sketchy…
