Transferring videos fro Panasonic v770 to Mac computer

I have both computer and video camera on and use Panasonic usb cable to connect camera to computer. I the select pc on camera. The next step is to select menu set up on video but it does not activate. I get a read only message on the camera. The iPhoto on Mac is not activated.
