macOS recovery after disk utility erase

Hi I erased my company MacBook via disk utility (MacBook from 2017)

completely erased the files in disk utility and then reinstalled macOS via internet recovery first of all. And then just standard software update

my question

based on the above. If I keep installing software updates, will any data I previously had before i erased the disk be available? Or is the previous data completely gone?

To caveat I didn’t back up to iCloud or Time Machine because it’s a company laptop

Issues After Upgrades (not Updates):

I wouldn't expect it to be gone, but rather inaccessible if you need to install a later version than what macOS was previously installed. So, as an example. if MS Office was on an earlier macOS version, you'd need to upgrade, or just download a reader from them, in order to access it. It a matter of incompatibility.
