Unable to add apple email to Outlook email

I have attempted to add my iCloud email to my standard Outlook email app on my laptop. When I add my iCloud email and enter my apple password, it says the password is incorrect. Can I add my iCloud email to my Outlook app, without having to download iCloud for Windows? If so, how can I resolve the Outlook error message related to my iCloud email password? By the way, I do have a two factor authentication in apple. I wonder if that's part of the problem?
