After upgrading MacMini to Sonoma, my Apple Thunderbolt Display is no longer recognized

I have a MacMini (M1, 2020) using an original Apple 27" Thunderbolt Display...connected via an Apple A1790 adapter (Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 adapter)...the TB display is no longer recognized by the MacMini. I verified the TB display works correctly by connecting it to a MacBook Air...no problem. I verified the MacMini works correctly by connecting it to another monitor (via the USB-C port previously used by the TB display)...no problem. I have power-cycled all devices. I have a 2nd Apple A1790 adapter I tried with the same result.

This occurred after an upgrade to Sonoma on the MacMini...previously worked fine.

I tried to force the 'Detect Displays' feature - nothing.

Any suggestions other than a downgrade to the OS?

Thanks.
