Movies I ripped from my dvd to iTunes library will not play on any devices with home sharing. Movies purchased from Apple Store play fine. This iproblem just started about a month ago.
Apple TV 4K (3rd generation)
Note that Home Sharing videos are accessible from the Computers app on the Apple TV box, not the TV app.
Videos should be in .mov/.mp4/.m4v container with H.264/H.265 video and AAC (or AC3) audio. The videos will appear in the Home Videos tab of the Computers app, when not tagged or when tagged as Home Video. Videos may show in the Movies tab, when tagged as Movie.
The Apple TV box doesn’t work for interlaced video. Verify that your shared file is progressive video.
