Importing folders into iTunes isn't working on Windows 11

Windows 11 Home after recent Microsoft crash. Latest Itunes 12.13.x because it's the only version that works on Win 11, which I discovered after several attempts at downloading the "official" version on the itunes store which appears to be a few years out of date (2020)!!.

Am trying to sort my iphone library out, have dozens of duplicates (somehow-have resolved this), have a folder in itunes that just list songs, no metadata, some songs are just numbered, which is not how they were when ripped from CD. Itunes tells me my iphone library is 42 songs, 2 artists, but I have 800 songs on my iphone 11......and despite having all the latest versions the import folder/import file options do NOT IMPORT ANYTHING. Nothing is copied into my itunes library. I am pretty much DONE with anything that has the Microsoft logo, or the Apple itunes/store. Have wasted so much time trying to make this stuff work with each other, I just downloaded MediaMonkey and will use that to handle my music library, and to deal with getting music to and from my phone. Done, done and done. When this laptop dies, that will be the end of PCs for me, no more Microsoft, have had to use DOS/Windows since 1992, will soon be retired, no need for it
