Apple Music, TV, and Devices issues on Windows

The new apps designed to replace iTunes on Windows have many issues that I have discovered in the first day of use.

My only use case for these programs is for an ipod.

New music imported into the Apple Music library does not properly sync album artwork to an ipod. Not sure if this is just music not from the iTunes store or if it is all music.

The Apple TV app has a few issues. First, importing TV episodes always defaults to a home video, changing it through the properties of the file does not work, and changing it by right clicking and changing it to TV episode just makes the file disappear from the GUI, but not the library. Essentially making the file lost.

Another issue is that even if you manage to sort the episode correctly, there is no way to convert the files to a compatible format, like you could with iTunes. This makes it so if you want to sync TV or movies to your ipod, you have to have a second computer available to convert the file.

The Apple Devices app has a couple issues as well. For one, the ipod driver that ships with it sometimes doesn't correctly load, and claims that the ipod is corrupted, and the Windows explorer says it is in a filesystem not supported.

After getting the driver to properly load by unplugging and plugging it back in, or restarting the pc, it will stop automatically syncing TV and movies. The option for automatically sync ___ episodes is just blank instead of all, and it will remove all but one movie and one episode of all TV shows.

In conclusion, until most or all of these issues are fixed, I recommend that you stick with iTunes instead of updating to these newer apps.
