Can I buy lenses for Apple Vision Pro later?

Hi! I want to preorder it as a present. The person to whom I want it to be presented, wear glasses. I see that there is an option to buy additional Zeeiss lenses. But I do not know exactly what kind of lenses the person wear. Can I buy it as it is, and later, we can buy the lenses ?

You can order ZEISS Optical Inserts when you purchase Apple Vision Pro - so you would need their valid prescription which hasn’t expired or get them later from the Apple Store website or app.

If you start or stop using ZEISS Optical Inserts later, you might need a different sized Light Seal to ensure proper fit. So there is that to consider. Please see here: If you need to order or replace your ZEISS Optical Inserts - Apple Support

Yes you can buy them separately / later, but they may tell you to buy a differently-sized light seal ($200) to give extra room to accommodate the lenses in front of your face.

You don't have to order them in-store, you can order them from home if you have or can borrow a device with Face ID. Here is the link: ZEISS Optical Inserts - Apple

You will need their glasses prescription, and may need to upload a copy of it, including prescriber info, depending on the specifics.

Two things--

Yes, you can buy Zeiss inserts separately later. And there’s a decent chance any single person will have to upgrade their own if their vision degenerates.

As I discovered when trying to get my prescription from my optician, they fall under all standard medical HIPAA regulations. So, you cannot access anyone else’s prescription, nor can they email them to even the patient themselves. AFAIK they can only be faxed, picked up directly from the Dr.’s office, or snail-mailed to the patient’s address. Just FYI so it doesn’t ruin a potential surprise. Nice gift!!
