Which iMac? They have been in continuous production since 1998 in hundreds of very different sub-models. There is no one unifying diagnostic that applies to 25 years of iMacs.


If this is the iMac shown in your equipment line:



We need to get you moved to the forum section for current iMacs. This section is for iMacs made before 2006 and gets painfully few views.


Also we need the sub-model to most effectively help in a forum setting where we neither see nor touch your computer. We are really bad at guessing details! 😱


Please do "About this Mac..." from your Apple menu and tell us the SUB-MODEL including screen size and any modifiers to the year, like Early, Mid, or late. Example from a Macbook Pro running macOS 12:
