Every time I try to open QuickTime the finder opens [MacOS Sonoma 14.2]

I use QuickTime for the screen recording. Each time when I open it Finder opens.

There is a solution to disable Settings -> Your Apple ID -> iCloud -> iCloud Drive -> Desktop & Documents Folders, which also disables Desktop & Documents file sync.

I also disabled QuickTime in Settings -> Your Apple ID -> iCloud -> iCloud Drive -> Apps syncing to iCloud Drive but no luck.

Is there any way to disable Finder opening on QuickTime starting, without disabling desktop sync with iCloud Drive?

A bit more nuanced: The QuickTime Player application by default shows the Open… dialog box. Just launching the app will always show this, it can’t be disabled. You may click Cancel to not open any document, or ignore it, and instead choose a function for the menu bar along the top of the screen.

The aforementioned Open… dialog box will show the last used location for where to open any compatible document. Initially, it will show the QuickTime folder in your personal iCloud, which may be empty. Use the options in the sidebar to change the folder view to a local folder on your disk, possibly the Desktop.
