Quicktime 7 in OS X Sonoma (Version 14)

Hello,

In QuickTime 7, there is a feature that allows me to select the exact still image I want from a video, and the video's title automatically accompanies it, eliminating the need for me to type it again. By pressing "⌘E," I can choose the desired still image from the video. I copy hundreds of such still images from videos every week at work. A significant time saver is that the title comes along when I copy from the video. It's an amazing feature available in QuickTime 7, but unfortunately, it seems not to be present in the new version of QuickTime, as far as I know.

I work with Swedish Sign Language for a lexicon, recording hundreds of videos weekly and capturing images to include on the lexicon's website. Each video is about 3 seconds long, and from each video, we copy between 1-6 still images.

I would be very grateful if you at Apple, who develop QuickTime, could reintroduce this feature in the new version of QuickTime. Currently, we use two computers.

We employ a fairly new computer to edit all the videos, and when it's time to copy still images from the video, we use an older computer with OS X 10.6 and QuickTime 7. It's inconvenient and takes up a lot of space with two separate computers, so we prefer to use a single one.

If Apple doesn't plan to address this in the new QuickTime, is there any other solution?

Avidemux > File > Save as image > Save as JPEG [Command-E] saves a .jpg from a movie with the movie's filename automatically filled in.

https://avidemux.sourceforge.net/

Shutter Encoder > Choose function > JPEG does the same.

Is this want you want?

Photos.app > File > Export > Export frame to pictures exports .tif from a movie but with a filename like Frame-09-01-2024-07-30-47.tiff i.e. the export date.
