As a non US citizen can I verify my identity using my passport?

I have been using Apple Cash for the past few months with no problems. Suddenly asked me to verify my identity which I have no problem with but the only option it gave me were intended for US citizens. As a non US citizen I should be able to verify my identity with other means such as a passport or ID’s from other countries.
