How Do You Draw Lines Around Cells in Numbers

Hi, does anybody know how to draw the lines around the cells in Numbers? I used this all the time on my previous OS but this version is different. The file has cells. By default there are no lines around any of them but you can can add lines around certain cells. To make a table for example. I can’t work out how to do it and couldn’t find out by Googling it either.


If you click on the “Cell” tab, top right, you can select the colour and style of the lines, but I’ve got no idea how to draw them on. You used to get a pencil cursor and just draw them on! Thanks for your help. Gareth

Once you have selected which border, you use the controls on the right to select line thickness, color, etc.



First I selected those six cells that had no border, I applied what is shown in the picture above, and the result is:




Post a picture if this still doesn't answer the question.


Numbers is different from Excel in that each sheet (tab) is a blank canvas on which you put tables. You can add tables from the Insert menu.
