Can’t switch between Apple Watch faces

I used to be able to swipe left and right to get to the new faces on my Apple Watch, but it’s not working anymore. Any ideas?

watchOS 10 changed the way you can choose a different face, as explained in Customize the watch face:

Choose a different watch face

Touch and hold the watch face, swipe to the one you want, then tap it.
