Weather widget, doesn’t show my location

I have the weather widget which shows “location services is off”. If I touch on the widget, it opens the proper weather app which gives me the weather for my current location. Why can’t the widget pick up on that?

Do you have WiFi "off"? I like to leave WiFi "off" because I prefer to use fast wired ethernet. However more and more Apple requires WiFi for some of its functions (AirDrop for one). I turned WiFi back "on" and the widget displayed my location and weather. Apparently something in Location Services requires WiFi... Anyway, try that. Dumb workaround if you are on a Mac that stays in one place all the time, and you don't want WiFi on all the time: manually add your location, turn off Wifi, and...it works. 🤪

I have given the weather widget permission to check my location and notifications are fully on. On my phone and ipad, it shows "current location" but on the new sonoma weather widget, all it says is "weather unavailable" for "my location." I've turned it off and then it says "location services are off." When I turn it back on, it still won't show my location. Any other ideas?
