How do I get my iPhone to start sending iMessage instead of text message

My iMessage would not send so I sent it as a text message. Now it won't go back to iMessage. How do I fix this problem.

Go to Settings/Messages, log in with your Apple ID if it is not already logged in, and turn on iMessage. You can only send iMessages to other iPhone users, not to any other kind of cell phone.
