Hello RebRose433,

Safari is the default browser for iPhone and iOS. It is used for searching the Internet.

  1. Safari - Apple
  2. Safari - Official Apple Support

Yes you can use it for traveling and searching maps. However for maps, you might have a better experience with the Maps app.

I hope this helps!

About Safari On an iPhone:

Safari is a Web browser. In terms of development, it reads HTML documents and exports them to the Web browser. The GUI is a bit different on an iPhone. Some sites use a mobile layout for mobile devices. If you want to keep the same bookmarks on this device, then enable Safari in iCloud Settings in this.

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: [your name]
  3. Tap: iCloud.

then...

  • iOS 16, iPadOS 16, or later: Tap Show All, then turn on Safari.
  • iOS 15, iPadOS 15, or earlier: Turn on Safari.
