Can't access Photos or Drive on PC

I'm trying to access my iCloud photos and Drive on my Windows 11 PC. After I sign in to icloud.com, then click the Photos or Drive icon, one of three things happen:

1) Apple will prompt to allow access, which I grant, but then the browser will once again show the sign in screen. Then I'm stuck in an infinite loop of sign-ins. This seems to mostly happen on Chrome.

2) I finally manage to sign in and get to the main screen with apps. I click on the Photos or Drive icon. The browser will show its message about getting access, which it will from my iPhone. But then I get a message about an error trying to get the files.

3) Or, the browser will show this message: "Can’t Display Your Photos - There was no response to the request sent to your devices. Your photos can’t be displayed until you grant iCloud.com access from one of your devices." I had not gotten any prompt/message on my iPhone. But I'll try clicking the "Send New Access Request" link below that, but nothing happens on either browser or iPhone.

I've been stuck on this for over a week. Any suggestions for getting access to my files is appreciated.

Hello bb1769,

If you're just wanting to view the iCloud website and info, this page has the information and instructions:

Sign in and use iCloud.com - Apple Support

Sign in and use iCloud.com
You can use iCloud from anywhere by signing in to iCloud.com using a web browser recommended in the Apple Support article System requirements for iCloud.

Sign in to iCloud.com
1. Go to iCloud.com, then sign in with your Apple ID.
2. If you’re already signed in to your device with your Apple ID and your device has Face ID or Touch ID, you can use it to sign in to iCloud.com.
3. If you set up two-factor authentication or two-step verification, follow the onscreen instructions to verify your identity by entering a code sent to a trusted device or phone number, or by using a security key.
4. If you lost your trusted device, you can still use Find Devices by clicking the Find Devices button after you enter your Apple ID. See How to sign in to Find Devices on iCloud.com.
See the Apple Support articles Two-factor authentication for Apple IDTwo-step verification for Apple ID, and About security keys for Apple ID.

If you're meeting the requirements and following those steps, but still having issues, you'll want to contact Apple Support for help. They'll be able to dig into why you're not having success.

Looks like the issue that Apple resolved in June is back again. Same thing. ADP does not allow access to iCloud components that require your iPhone to allow access. It's déjà vu' all over again (pardon me, Yogi Berra!).

Looks like it will take another week for them to get this resolved...

iOS 17.1.2 may have done the break. The last time in June, it was after I upgraded to iOS 16.x.

Oh well. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the reply. It was precisely the sign-in process that didn't work, or else after sign-in I got errors trying to access photos. So the above directions wouldn't have helped in my case.

However, for some reason I can now sign in and access photos, with no difference in how I signed in or went to photos. Go figure.
