Music won't play on Music App - iPhone 11 & iPhone 14!

For 2 months, I have found that music sometimes will play from the Music App and sometime not - anyone else?

I've tried restarting, deleting app, reinstalling and downloading, so I've done all that - all software updates done too...

Hi Forestfairy49,

welcome to the Apple (user-to-user) Community.

Re: "music sometimes will play from the Music App and sometime not"

Wondering if you have a subscription to Apple Music, or not.

Without a subscription, we can still use Apple Music, yet not all features.

Subscribe to Apple Music on iPhone

Eg: Apple Support's article (link below)

Subscribe to Apple Music on iPhone – Apple Support (AU)

Says:

“If you’re not a subscriber, you can use Music to listen to music synced to iPhone from a Mac or a Windows PC, play and download previous iTunes Store purchases, and listen to Apple Music radio for free”.

Previous purchases may be available in the "Library" in the Music app.

or

If needed:

With or without a subscription:

This is happening to me also. I do have a subscription. I have an iPhone 14 that's less than a year old. When paired with Bluetooth speakers, it often simply will not play. When I can get it to play, it the music skips, stops and starts, and just drives me nuts. My phone also skips songs in my Carplay (brand new car) when hooked up via USB. My phone will also not let me download any songs despite having plenty of free space. I just doesn't do it. This problem with the phone occurs with fully charged (sometimes plugged in) Sony bluetooth speakers.

By contrast, I have an iPad 5 mini which I usually stream to bluetooth, and it has been fine. This is definitely a phone issue.
